Coach W spoke with Bobby Guthrie about transportation to swim meets and how it relates to our year round swimmers attending meets following club practices.
The athletic participation form signed by all athletes allows parents to drive athletes to or from the meets without liability issues as long as the coach/AD knows of the choice before each competition.
For meets at NC State:
- Please let Coach W know if your swimmer plans to attend a club practice at TAC and will not be riding the bus with the team.
- Swimmers need to arrive at NC State by 5:45 for warm up (even if they don't warm up with the team) so that final adjustments for the meet can be made as needed.
- If athletes miss an event due to not arriving on time, they may be scratched from the next event (or the meet at the coaches discretion).
- Regular season meets allow swimmers opportunities to make regional qualifying times in multiple events.
- Coach W would prefer that swimmers ride the bus if possible but will let you decide on the best option for your swimmer.
